Un gran cubo oscuro de 5x5x5 metros, fabricado con diferentes materiales y elementos de construcción, absorberá el visitador para conducirlo a través del proceso creativo de los edificios más innovadores realizados por Menis en estos últimos diez años de trabajo. Así, podremos adentrarnos en la creación de CKK Jordanki en Polonia, la que es una de las mejores salas de conciertos del mundo gracias a su novedosa acústica variable; o en el Magma Art & Congress de Tenerife, un clásico contemporáneo, un edificio perfectamente adaptable que ha sido capaz de acoger una gran variedad de acontecimientos desde conciertos de música clásica y pop hasta ferias comerciales y desfiles de moda. Una selección de maquetas escultóricas realizadas en hormigón, cerámica, metal y otros materiales sorprendentes así como los Cuadros Acústicos nunca antes expuestos o el prototipo de «Hatching» revelarán la relación necesaria entre función y forma presente en todos los diseños de Menis. Además se mostrarán algunos de los proyectos en curso como la Iglesia del Santísimo Redentor en La Laguna, el futuro Auditorio de Pájara en Fuerteventura y Bürchen Mystik en Suiza.
Aedes, una de las galerías de arquitectura más importantes del mundo, es activa en la comunicación de la cultura arquitectónica y el diseño urbano. Su misión es situar la cultura de la construcción y de la arquitectura en el centro del interés público, mostrando distintas visiones arquitectónicas, conceptos urbanos sostenibles y arquitecturas del paisaje. Desde su fundación en los años `80, ha organizado más de 350 exposiciones y ha mostrado el trabajo de arquitectos como Zaha Hadid, Thom Mayne, Daniel Libeskind, Frank Gehry y Rem Koolhaas, incluso mucho antes de que se hicieran mundialmente reconocidos.

https://www.aedes-arc.de[:en]On December 7th, AEDES, the historic architecture gallery from Berlin opens an exhibition starring the Spanish architect Fernando Menis. Under the title «Menis Backstage, Nature, Culture and Materiality», the exhibition will allow you to delve into the creative processes of an author whose work is based on experimentation, research and innovation in the field of architecture. The visitors will be able to observe the evolution of an idea towards its materialization through a graphic and sensory journey: from understanding the context, topography, climate, local materials and craftsmanship to the use of natural elements to achieve a global vision with local solutions.
A large dark cube of 5x5x5 meters made of different construction materials and elements will absorb the visitors to walk them through the creative process of the most innovative buildings achieved by Menis in the last ten years of work. Thus, we will get into the creation of CKK Jordanki in Poland, which is one of the best concert halls in the world thanks to its groundbreaking variable acoustics; or the Magma Art & Congress in Tenerife, an already contemporary classic, a perfectly adaptable building that has been able to host a wide variety of events from classical and pop-rock music concerts to commercial fairs and fashion shows. A selection of sculptural models made of concrete, ceramics, metal and other surprising materials as well as some other abstract works like «Acoustic Frames» never before exhibited or the prototype «Hatching» will reveal the necessary relationship between function and form present in all Menis’ designs. Some of the ongoing buildings like Bürchen Mystik in Switzerland, the Holy Redeemer Church in La Laguna and the Pájara Concert Hall in Fuerteventura will be also featured.
