Prize in Competition announced by Port Authority The existing urban space between the city and the sea offered a poor image of the territory; city-port and sea coexisted without apparent connection. The city seemed to turn his back to the sea. The architecture seeks to reconcile the Earth and sea energy. The main objective of the proposal is the reunion of the city with the sea, based on a restructuration of the urban front of Santa Cruz by a maritime border space that allows, once again, the presence of the sea in the city.Historical elements and paths are recovered, the primitive dock in Santa Cruz, San Cristobal Castle, Santa Elena’s Alameda…, a very strong shape rises to unify, through a sustainable architecture, a proportional city edge with the port and the sea.
